Welcome To My Site

J4GJF.... has been the personalised registration number of my recent cars. My most favourite was a little blue Smartcar. Unfortunately it didn't accommodate my current lifestyle. My Current Car is a Toyota Corolla Touring Sport Hybrid. In comparison to the Smart Car it’s massive but we can fit all our camping gear in it and in the future hopefully will be able to tow a small caravan.

I’ve been using an iMac computer for many years and also have an iPad Pro and an iPhone which work seamlessly with it. I have just purchased a MacBookPro to replace my aging and ailing iMac. As always with new stuff it is a very steep learning curve, working out what are the best programs and how they work. I would love to have the equivalent of Microsoft Publisher, Access and Frontpage. iWeb has not been updated for many years and I am struggling with a decent web design package. At the moment I am just about managing with Sandvox.

I love family history and spend hours looking things up on the internet. I hope my family tree will become a useful resource for others researching the "Flintham" and "Fixter" names. I have an interest in researching Arthur Tomkinson Haywood who made some of my extended family beneficiaries to his estate in South Africa. It would be really interesting to find out more information about him and understand how he was related.

My next interest is listening to and playing music. I like all sorts to listen to and I love my Sonos System. I have been learning how to play keyboards for many years. I have owned several high end instruments, I loved my Yamaha Tyros keyboards and now own a Yamaha Genos. I have regular lessons with Sheila from Cheadle Hulme Music Academy. If I practiced more I would be able to attempt some grade exams.

My other hobby is taking photographs. I have lots of pictures taken on various cameras. As digital cameras have developed I have updated I have had many different models. I took some great photos with my Canon 550D SLR but it was heavy, and it was frustrating having to keep changing lenses. I’ve had Panasonic travel zooms including TZ40 - it took great pictures and the colour balance was great. I now have a Panasonic Hybrid Bridge superzoom but again when travelling I am finding it a bit too large and heavy. You have to balance the weight and size, the ability to zoom and set for your type of photos, with the quality of photo and resolution for modern digital needs.

I really need to sort out my photos and produce some gallery pages. At the moment my music practice and a million other things seems to take priority.
