My family call me Gordon but my preferred name is definitely Jaime. I live in Stockport, Cheshire with my husband. We have recently moved into a bungalow and we are slowly bringing it up to our standards and preferences. We are close to the countryside of the Goyt and Ethrow Valleys, not far from the Peak District National Park, close to motorway links, and 6 miles south of the City of Manchester.
I am just an ordinary guy - I work hard and sleep a lot! Away from work I enjoy playing and listening to music, shopping, relaxing, and being outdoors. I like stately homes and architecture, wildlife and taking photos. I like pieces of music from all sorts of styles, apart from heavy metal. My favourite music is easy listening "New Country" style and ballads. I enjoy going to the theatre and shows and particularly like to go out for meals.
I now play a Yamaha Genos. In the past I’ve had a range of Yamaha Clavinova and Tyros keyboards and a Kawai Digital Stage piano. I have regular music lessons. I made good progress as a beginner but it's hard being an "improver". I probably don't practice enough but I give it my best shot.
I love holidays and the countryside. My favourite places are the Scottish Highlands and Kintyre Peninsular, Wales and Cornwall. I've also had amazing holidays in California and Nevada in the USA, and Singapore and Australia. In the past we have been able to enjoy winter breaks somewhere warm like Gran Canaria, when the money allows we may be able make plans again.

I spend a lot of time playing with my computer, entering data for my family tree and with my favourite games especially the Rollercoaster Tycoon series. I have an iMac which for many years just worked! It is now vintage and threatening to give up so I have recently bought a MacBook Pro. It is taking a lot of time to learn how to use some of the new software and update digital content. Unfortunately a few of the programmes that I liked in Windows don't exist on a Mac, partiularly Publisher and Access.
Our bungalow is an ongoing project. We moved because I needed ground floor accommodation and a break from our neighbours. Our new home is detached with a nice garden front and rear. It was immaculately clean and well cared for however it’s 1980’s roots were strong features. We have completed many projects to update it. We now have new high quality double glazing, solar panels, a family shower room and an ensuite shower room together with a study and two bedrooms all brought up to our tastes and standards. Our next major project is the kitchen. We have firm plans and some changes have already been made.
We have two cats, and a dog, to add to the fun. Smudge had to be put to sleep aged only 7. Tinker was a bit lost without a playmate so we got a new rescue cat called Kuro. He’s completely black. Kuro Oji is from Black Prince in Japanese Manga stories. We now alsohave a working Cocker Spanial called Willow - she is a handful to say the least.
Finally, I have a wonderful husband. He puts up with me so he must be special!
